Membership Terms & Conditions

By submitting your application for our Studio Membership program and upon being accepted, these are the terms and conditions each artist is agreeing to.

By joining our membership program, you agree to the following terms:

Respect the Studio:
Treat our studio as if it were your own, keeping it clean and tidy after each use.

Safety First:
Follow all safety guidelines and instructions provided by our staff to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience.Secure Your Belongings: If you leave tools or artworks with us, inform our studio techs for safekeeping and peace of mind.

Kiln Firing:
Understand that while we take utmost care, unforeseen breakages may occur during firing, and any associated repair costs will be your responsibility.

Communication is Key:
Provide accurate information regarding clay and glaze types to avoid any potential damage or fees.Glaze Stability: Test your glazes for stability, avoiding flash or salt-containing mixtures.

Experimentation with Caution:
Inform us of any unconventional clay or glaze experiments to ensure a smooth kiln experience.

Booking Your Timeslot:
Arrange your 3-hour per week booking timeslot with our studio team via email at memberships@theartdepartment.com.au. We'll work together to find a suitable time for your creative sessions. Payment must be made before your membership commences, and your start date will be confirmed upon review of your application.

BYO Clay:
Please note that you are required to BYO your own clay, as no clay is available for purchase in the studio.

Membership Cancellation:
We reserve the right to cancel your membership at any time if there is any malpractice or misuse of our studio space and equipment.

Pause and Cancellation:
Should you need to pause or cancel your membership, at least 14 days notice is required.
